Best sports physical therapy seattle - something
At Seattle Sport, you can expect to leave every session with a clear directive on how to best manage your symptoms and gain both physical and mental resilience
I am intimately familiar with physical therapy. I have been a patient many times and I even worked in a physical therapy clinic for three years. During my treatments and employment, I have worked with and met quite a few Physical Therapists. Jennifer Aglubat is one of the best Physical Therapists I have ever encountered. She is a consummate professional. One of her best qualities is that she listens to her patients. Jennifer wants to know how an injury occurred and the overall goals for therapy. She believes that getting to know you as a person and not just a patient makes her a better provider.
The first time I saw Jennifer I was training in Martial Arts to earn my black belt. I was experiencing great pain in my shoulder. Jennifer knew how important this goal was to me and adjusted my therapy to get through my black belt test. When I was able to take a break from my karate training, Jennifer and I worked together to rehab my shoulder. I appreciated that she listened to my desires and figured out ways to help me. Many doctors or therapists would simply have told me to stop training in order for my shoulder to heal. Instead of benching me, she figured out how to help me meet my therapy goals and also earn my black belt.
My experience with Jennifer was so positive that when my son was in a minor car accident and suffered a back injury, we went directly to her. [My son] was 14 years old at the time. She was great with him and they formed a bond that has lasted 7 years. When he was in high school, [my son] wrestled for O’Dea High School. During his four years on the team, he suffered shoulder injuries and knee injuries. Jennifer not only helped him rehab from his injuries, but she worked to strengthen him in efforts to decrease the chances of further injuries. When his academic and wrestling schedules became overwhelming, Jennifer went out of her way to check in with him and adjust his home program as needed.
Both my son and I are experiencing good health as a result of our treatments from Jennifer. We always felt we could contact her with questions and ask her advice even if we were not currently in therapy. I highly recommend Jennifer for all of your PT needs. Her approach to overall healing will not only make her your life long PT, but also a trusted friend.
The Pacific Northwest is a mecca for outdoor recreation and team sports of all levels- from youth T-ball to professional soccer to masters rowing clubs; Seattle and the greater area has it all. From mountains to Sound, the options are as limitless as are the ways to sustain injury. Injuries are an inherent risk that comes with any sport, and inevitably, even the best athlete is sidelined with an injury. What’s important is that the injured athlete gets early medical attention and appropriate rehab. The better the care, the faster an athlete can get back to their game. With proper attention from an expert, an athlete can leave therapy with better strength, coordination, and control than before their injury.
Consider Renew Physical Therapy for you or for your child’s sports injury. Our team of therapists is not only trained and experienced in coaching and treating athletes but most are also accomplished athletes who have seen their fair share of injuries. We understand the athlete mentality and the drive to get back out there. Our physical therapists work with athletes to assess muscle imbalance, flexibility, and special requirements of each sport. For example, a baseball pitcher may need a shoulder stabilization program due to instability or improper mechanics. A golfer can benefit from working with a PT certified to assess and correct a golf swing. Not only can our golf video assessment provide clues to how an overuse injury developed, but it also helps prevent further injury through neuromuscular reeducation. We are proud to have two accomplished ultra Frisbee athletes on staff who can treat muscular-skeletal injuries, progress strength, correct movement patterns with agility training, and perform a video gait analysis before discharge. Basketball and other team sports along with skiers and climbers may need speed and explosive strength programs with an emphasis on plyometrics to be safe and perform with confidence. Strength, agility, and plyometrics are part of all return-to-sport programs.
A big focus of Renew PT is community outreach to youth teams and organizations with the goal of preventing injuries. Our therapists with gymnastics backgrounds work closely at Seattle Gymnastics Academy in Columbia City to treat injured youth and advise coaches and parents in injury prevention. We offer preventative knee injury classes for youth, especially young women who are most at risk for ACL injuries in field sports. These include video analysis and correction of jumps, lands, and lateral cutting. Renew also offers a bridge program called SHIFT. A patient who is cleared to return to sport can work with our strength and conditioning coaches to build a custom program to address any atrophy or deconditioning experienced during the time away from athletics.
A knee injury is a common occurrence in many sports, but the return-to-sport rehab of the knee has to be custom-built around the specific injury, sport, and athlete. Renew therapists enjoy the challenge of rebuilding the athlete. No matter the sport or the injury, you are guaranteed the best care available at Renew. If you or someone you know is injured, give us a call. If you’re not sure if Renew is right for you, we offer free consultations.

Did you know that you have Direct Access to see a Physical Therapist? This means that you can consult a Physical Therapist for evaluation of your musculoskeletal problems, without first seeing a doctor. Direct Access can save you both time and money, and with COVID can also limit your medical interactions.
Physical Therapists are skilled in differential diagnosis. Your PT will listen to your history and perform a musculoskeletal evaluation to determine the reasons for you pain or limitations, and if indicated will refer you to a doctor if additional tests or care is needed.
Winter activities are here, so now is a good time to for PT to help you be ready for these! And with many of us working and exercising from home, a PT Telehealth visit to view and make recommendations on your home work or gym station could be very helpful.
Most Washington insurance carriers will pay for PT without a doctor’s prescription. Exceptions include Kaiser and LNI. Call your insurance provider if you are unsure.
