Northwood School WILL be having fall sports in some context this season, nh middle school soccer. This is still developing with the nh middle school soccer towns, but at the very least soccer will continue to run with drills and skills and cross country can continue to run as normal. Games and Meets and still up in the air at the present moment. There will be sign ups online as well as the usual permission form that needs to be completed. There will also need to be a waiver completed and your child MUST have an updated physical on file with the nurse.

Fall 2020

Cross Country: Begins 9/14 3:30-5:00 meet at softball field

Boys Soccer: Begins 9/14 2:45-4:15 meet at lower (soccer) field

Girls Soccer: Begins 9/14 4:15-5:45 meet at lower (soccer) field

When you bring your child to tryouts, nh middle school soccer, their temperature will be taken by their coach. If we do not have on record the completed permission form or waiver, nh middle school soccer, you must complete it there before your child can participate. Thank you for your cooperation!

Students must ALWAYS be supervised if they are staying after. 

The permission form and waiver must be completed before tryouts. Your child must also have an up to date physical on file in order to participate.

Mission Statment

It is the purpose of the Interscholastic Athletic Program at Northwood School to help develop young men and women physically, mentally and socially as human beings through athletic participation. The building of character, the development of ethics and values, and the fostering of sportsmanship and fair play, are all parts of the foundation of becoming a good human being and a positive contributing member of our society. With this, a climate is created for our student-athletes to grow intellectually, morally and physically, developing a base upon which growth will continue throughout their lifetime, thus providing a holistic approach to the child’s well-being.

 

Program Philosophy

In following with the mission statement, it is important that we here at Northwood School ensure the enjoyment, safety and positive skill development of our student-athletes in an environment that fosters maturity. Learning experiences need to be provided that are appropriate to lumberton football association growth and development of the age group involved. Each child’s individuality needs to be taken into account while recognizing the dynamics of personality. Athletics at Northwood School should be conducted so as to enhance the physical, mental, social, emotional and moral growth of the children. Developing a positive self-concept and self-esteem in each child is of importance, nh middle school soccer. Athletics is another extension of the child’s life and needs to be treated as such. Athletics are co-curricular and therefore provide an essential component of the total school curriculum, nh middle school soccer. Athletics help to aid students in the following:

  1. An opportunity to develop tolerance and sensitivity to the commitment of others and to the value of fellow human beings.
  2. A real chance for young people to become part of something that is a positive and fun influence in their lives.

 

Program Goals

The Athletic Department at Northwood School recognizes and understands the changing needs and dynamics of our student-athletes as well as the evolvement of athletics over the past years. In order to attempt to meet these changing needs the Athletic Department has developed the following set of goals.

  • providing quality athletic opportunity and programs for all students who participate in the athletic program
  • providing maximum participation opportunities at the entry level(s) of competition Ø provide athletic opportunities to develop, exemplify and observe good sportsmanship Ø develop an awareness and realization in students that participation is a privilege with accompanying responsibilities
  • providing activities for learning self-discipline, loyalty, team play, personal pride, school pride, the respect for the rights of others and the will to be successful
  • providing opportunities for students to understand the importance of cooperation and leadership in sports and the connection to other areas of personal commitment
  • provide students with opportunities for healthy and appropriate competition
  • integrating athletics within the total education program, nh middle school soccer, providing educational experiences in conjunction with those provided in the curriculum
  • providing athletic opportunities for the development of positive attitudes, cooperation and responsible individual / team play

There is a sign-up table in the main lobby for winter sports. 

 

8th graders should make sure to sign-up before leaving for their camp week. In order to participate, the athletic contract & health form (BELOW) needs to be completed and nh middle school soccer in to the coach.

  • All students must complete the health contract and forms for EVERY season/sport played
  • The health & contract forms (in the Athletic Handbook) must be completed and returned to the AMS office or coach before tryouts
