All new swimmers are required to undergo a swimming assessment before registering for the programme.
Assessments are conducted on training days only (Junior School pm, Preparatory School pm). 

There is no need to make an assessment booking

Please speak with one of our friendly coaching team upon arrival who will personally assist you.  Current participants are not required to be re-assessed.

Ipswich Grammar Swimming Club

Ipswich Grammar Swimming Club is based at Ipswich Grammar School - the Club is an extension of the School and as a consequence strives for exceptional performance. Ipswich Grammar School was founded in and commenced swimming activities with a heated 50m pool in when the first swimming club was established.

Ipswich Grammar Swimming Club attracts beginner, development and elite swimmers through a combination of swimming club activities, club meets and GPS/School swimming environments.

The vision of the Ipswich Grammar Swimming Club is to provide a fun, safe and supportive environment for swimmers to develop their racing skills while cork traction pad surf members to have a great time with their friends and family.

Club Rugged 3 lug adapter 1 2x28 and Junior School swimming carnivals are generally the first level of competition archery medals for sale swimmer will participate in. As the swimmers age and develop they will be encouraged to compete in higher-level grammar swimming club. Our Club Nights are held every Tuesday night starting at pm at the IGS Swimming Pool (Waghorn Street, Ipswich).

Ipswich Grammar Swimming Club aims to play an important role in improving the level of swimming in the Ipswich area and will do so under Head Coach and IGS Old Boy Tom Harris (Class of ).

Tom has over 20 years coaching experience and a number of Brisbane and Swimming Queensland records are still held by swimmers he coached at the time.

Ipswich Grammar Swimming Club uses TeamApp as our major communication tool for news, events, programs and important information.

Unfortunately due to popularity of the program, we are unable to accept external squad swimmers into our program. Swimmers must be Knox grammar swimming club Wahroonga Prep students or have progressed through our Learn to Swim program.

ABOUT OUR SQUADS

Blue Squad

Blue Squad is the first Squad beyond the Learn-To-Swim Program (Mini Squad being the final Learn-To-Swim Squad). As such it begins the transition from ‘teaching’ to ‘coaching’. The focus is to continue swimmers’ development in all four strokes, grammar swimming club, with both a view to ensure they are proficient in these strokes, and also to give them a basis for participation in competitive swimming if they choose. The emphasis is to improve technique in all strokes, including starts and turns, and introduce basic skills and knowledge to assist in competitive performance.

Black Squad

The focus is to continue and refine swimmers’ development in all four strokes from the level attained in Blue Squad, with an increasing focus on developing their skills for competitive swimming. The emphasis is to continue to improve technique in all strokes, including starts and turns, develop endurance and speed, and continue to improve skills and knowledge to assist in competitive performance.

Junior Squad

Junior Squad is one of two Squads above Black Squad (the other being Junior Performance Squad). Junior Squad caters for both competent junior swimmers involved in swimming as a competitive sport, grammar swimming club who are grammar swimming club yet eligible for Junior Performance Squad; and competent junior swimmers who wish to swim for fitness, health and wellbeing. The focus is to continue and refine swimmers’ development in all four strokes from the level attained in Black Squad, with a dual focus of developing their ability and skills for competition, and improving their fitness. The emphasis is to continue to improve technique in all strokes, including starts and turns, improve endurance and speed, and all american sports enterprises inc swimmers for optimal competitive performance where relevant.

Senior Squad

Senior Squad is the Squad above Junior Squad. Senior Squad caters primarily for senior swimmers who want to swim for general fitness, health and wellbeing, or to assist with their participation in school swimming competition or other sports, such as water polo. Swimmers may still wish to compete for Knox-Pymble Swimming Club (see below) or another club. The primary emphasis is to improve fitness and endurance, grammar swimming club, but attention is also given to improve technique in all strokes, grammar swimming club, including starts and turns, and to improve speed, especially for those swimmers who compete.

Junior Performance Squad

Junior Performance Squad is one of two Squads above Black Squad (the other being Junior Squad). Junior Performance Squad caters for competent junior swimmers involved in swimming as a competitive sport. The focus is to continue and refine swimmers’ development in all four strokes from the level attained in Black Squad or Junior Squad, with a focus on developing their full competitive potential. The emphasis is to continue to improve technique in all strokes, including starts and turns, improve endurance and speed, and prepare swimmers for optimal competitive performance.

Senior Performance Squad

Senior Performance Squad is the Squad above Junior Performance Squad. The Squad caters for accomplished senior competitive swimmers fully committed to competitive swimming. The focus is to continue and refine swimmers’ development in all four strokes from the level attained in Junior Performance Squad, with a focus on developing their full competitive potential. The emphasis is to continue to improve technique in all strokes, including starts and turns, improve endurance and speed, and prepare swimmers for optimal competitive performance.

St Michael&#;s Grammar School Aquatics

Established ingrammar swimming club, St Michael’s Grammar School Aquatics is a swimming club for St Michael’s students and the wider community. The club caters for swimmers in Year 5 and above with a focus on preparing students for competitions and/or maintaining fitness throughout the year.

There are two streams that swimmers can elect to participate in; the competitive stream and the fitness stream, grammar swimming club. Both streams train at the School’s indoor pool and gym complex with several sessions to choose from (a mix of sessions before school and in the evening). Students have access to a wide range of facilities as part of the club, including:

  • Indoor heated 6 lane swimming pool
  • Adjustable starting blocks for race practise
  • Weights Room
  • Indoor Basketball Court
  • Study space for use after school before training

Swimmers in the competitive stream are required to purchase a Swimming Victoria membership, which will allow them to compete at the various meets throughout the year.

Aquastar Swim Schools is the provider of swimming lessons at St Michael&#;s.

The Grammar School has three swimming pools set in a spacious area: the largest is competition size (25m by 13m), and there are&#;a further two children’s pools.&#; The swimming pool area is serviced by a fully-equipped kitchen and separate bar area. At the back of the swimming pool area, there is a beach volley ball court where tournaments are organized during the year. As a grammar swimming club of the Physical Education curriculum, grammar swimming club, from September to the end of October and in April and May, students utilize the pool for grammar swimming club lessons during school hours.&#; The pool is heated to accommodate for weather conditions.

The PE Department also organizes an annual Swimming Gala during which the students compete against each other; individual winners are then awarded medals during a ceremony.&#; The department also organises an inter-school gala for private schools.&#; In co-operation with the Cyprus Modern Pentathlon Federation of which The Grammar School is a member, an annual biathlon event is held and athletes from all over Cyprus come to participate.&#;

After school, students who mark begert hockey members of the Swimming Club practise and make use of the pool.&#; The Aquatic Grammar swimming club and the Life Saving Club also use the pool for club meetings and training. BGS+ Swim

Be part of our swim program offering the best in aquatic disciplines, fitness and fun in our indoor facility. 

BGS+ Swim is an expertly designed swim program aimed for children 4 years and older.

The program is appropriate for children of all abilities from beginners, intermediate swimmers to improve swim technique through to competitive squad levels.

Term 1

Weekly sessions (specifically designed to assist your child’s swim performance).

  • Sessions will be held Tuesday to Friday after school hours
  • Commencing Tuesday 1 February and concluding Friday 8 April

Term 1

BGS+ Swim also offers students a week private lesson program. This is an ideal program for those who want extra support with their swimming as the lessons are tailored for the individual student.

The week program, of 30 minute one on one private lessons with our fantastic BGS+Swim teachers, starts on Tuesday 1 February &#; Friday 8 April, with lessons available from pm. Private lessons run on a term schedule so the cost for the week program is $, due prior to the first lesson.

  • Level 3 (30 mins): 1/week $ OR 2/week $
  • Level (45 mins): 1/week $ OR 2/week $
