PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — The Prince George's County Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured four people New Year's Eve in Capitol Heights. 

Police told WUSA9 the shooting occurred at around 10:30 p.m. Friday on Cindy Lane around the 6400 block of Central Avenue. One man and three male teenagers were shot, PGPD says.

The man who was shot drove himself to Central Avenue and called police to send help, police say. The man was taken by first responders to a nearby hospital and is being treated for injuries that are not life-threatening.

Shortly after, police were notified of three teenagers seeking treatment at a nearby hospital who had also been shot. Police determined they were also shot on Cindy Lane and say their injuries are all nonlife-threatening. 

Police do not have a suspect for the shooting and are asking anyone with information to come forward. 

This Capitol Heights shooting came hours before PG County officers found a man dead in a Clinton home around 1:40 a.m. Saturday. 

Police tweeted that officers were dispatched to a residence in the area of the 6000 block of Plata Street for reports of a shooting. When officers arrived they found a man unresponsive with a gunshot wound. 

The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead. 

PGPD is asking anyone with information about these shootings to call PG Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.

Police say Roy Batson, 63, fatally shot and killed Mackeda Evans and Michelle Boateng.

Both women, 46, reportedly worked at the Gateway Village senior living community on Suffolk Avenue.

Batson and Boateng also apparently lived in the community.

Investigators believe an ongoing dispute between Batson and Evans may have led to the shooting.

Batson allegedly confronted Evans the day of the incident about some sort of violation notice he'd received earlier in the month.

As a police SWAT team swept the area for the shooter and other potential victims, they came across Batson laying down in a third floor hallway, with a gun nearby.

After being taken into custody, police say Batson admitted to the murders.

Upon his arrest police lifted a local shelter in place advisory, saying there was no longer any public safety threat.

Batson is currently being held without bail on first degree murder charges.

Police said two were killed in the shooting as officers swarmed the building searching for other victims.

National Church Residences later released a statement confirming that the two victims were employees.

"We are extremely heartbroken by the events that occurred this morning at our affordable housing property Gateway Village, in Capitol Heights, Maryland. We are proud of the heroic and swift actions of our staff to ensure that our residents were protected and kept safe," the statement said.

"Our hearts go out to the families of our two team members who lost their lives in this tragic and unfortunate incident."

A male suspect was taken into custody after the hours-long standoff. His identity remains unknown.

"I was coming into the building, and we heard a 'pow' and then... I looked, and I saw his hand go up, and he shot twice, and I just ran," a witness told 7News DC.

Witnesses reportedly told the outlet the shooter is a resident at Gateway Village; however, those claims are unconfirmed.

Another witness who spoke to the outlet said the shooter told him: "Nobody is standing up for the seniors, I can't take it no more, I have to do something. Obviously, what he chose to do was wrong, but he did something,"

Footage from the scene showed heavy police presence outside of the senior living facility.
