2.0 out of 5 starsExcellent fit and noise isolation, good sound for low power, energy efficient Bluetooth earbuds

Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2015

UPDATE 11/23/15:
The left earbud quit working after two weeks. I could get a few seconds of sound by very gently pushing or pulling the cable where it enters the earbud, suggesting weak wiring. I wore these while running using the clip to secure it to my shirt. The cable had plenty of slack and was not pulled tight, even when I turned my head. The only force on the cable was weight of the cable itself, bouncing slightly as I ran. I wore them during 5 runs, about 8 hours total.

I am replacing these with earbuds from another manufacturer, not because I think these are poorly manufactured, but because I found a competitor product with better ratings for sound quality and battery life at a similar price point. Otherwise, I would have purchased another pair. With a sample size of one, it's possible this is a well-designed and manufactured product, and I was simply unlucky, and received a rare defective pair. Nevertheless, I'm lowering my review to 2 stars to reflect my experience. If this is truly a great product, the average score will remain high and cancel out mine.

Fortunately, I was within Amazon's 30-day return policy. I did read the warranty terms in the user manual, however, which are stated as 90 days. As of this update (11/23/15), the Amazon product description states one year parts and labor warranty. FYI, something to be aware of.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I bought these for running. The sound is okay for earbuds. I have a $15-20 pair of MEElectronic corded earbuds, and their sound quality is noticeably better than this Photive model. I attribute the lower sound quality to Bluetooth, but mostly as a tradeoff to extend battery life, because great bass is energy intensive. Sound quality is very good at lower volumes, but the lack of fidelity is very apparent at higher volumes. The microphone quality is not as good as Apple earbuds, but better than the MEElectronic. Microphone quality is sufficient for phone calls. You wouldn't want to use these for making videos or high quality audio recordings, but the person on the other end of a phone call will be able to understand you, and for Bluetooth earbuds, that's what counts.

The earbuds form a tight, noise isolating seal. This is great in most listening situations, but when running, you need some outside sound to hear that car or truck coming up behind you. I also use them when mowing the lawn as noise reducing hearing protection, and they are excellent in that respect. I can listen to podcasts and understand voices clearly without having to turn up the volume very high to cover the engine noise.

Battery life is very good. I'm not sure if the battery is in the module with the charge port, buttons, and microphone, or in the ear pieces. Wherever it is, it's small, so six hours of claimed battery life is impressive. I don't blast the volume while running, and I haven't drained the battery between charges in the week I've had them, but the battery has lasted over 4 hours while showing more than 50% charge remaining. Only time will tell how long the battery can maintain such good performance. My last Bluetooth earbuds were a pair of Sony Ericsson purchased in 2006 or 2007. They had a NiMH battery, and the charge capacity dropped off quickly after a year. The Photives have a lithium ion polymer battery, so I hope they last at least 2-3 years.

The ear hooks felt odd at first. I adjusted after a few minutes, and they do hold the earbuds securely in place while running. I never have to push them back into place. In terms of fit, these are the best earbuds I've ever used. They come with 5 pairs of hooks. Two pairs like the hooks shown in the product picture (large and small), and three pairs of more minimalist, curved, comma-shaped hooks (small, medium, and large). There are three pairs of earbud fittings (small, medium, and large). Most people should be able to mix and match to find a secure, comfortable fit. Be aware you may get the best fit by using a different size in each ear. The cord connecting the earbuds can be shortened using the included folding clips. This improves stability while running. I also clip the cord to the collar of my shirt when running to reduce bounce.

So, in summary:
Pros: size, weight, secure fit even while running, multiple hooks and buds, battery life for the size.

Cons: sound quality at high volume, particularly bass

When you’re working out at the gym, running in the rain, or doing your routine exercise, it’s important to have a high quality set of earbuds that are there to provide you with your favorite music. Small, sleek, and super comfortable, the Photive PH-BTE70 Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds provide the perfect solution for those who are looking for the best. They’re one of the latest releases from Photive, and a definite upgrade from the Photive PH-BTE50. With a new design, and an improved set of features, the PH-BTE70 seem to have it all.

Photive PH-BTE70 Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds

Unmatched Comfort

Since they’re small in size and made from a very soft material, these earbuds won’t cause discomfort – even after hours of continuous use during your workout. Each earbud is equipped with a bendable ear hook that clings around your ear so they are always in place and never fall out. Through intense movements and vigorous activities, you won’t need to worry about them coming loose. Nothing is more annoying than having to constantly fix your earbuds and keep them in place.

Photive PH-BTE70 Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds

Fantastic Sound Quality

The Photive PH-BTE70 Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds utilize the advanced APTX sound to emit the finest acoustics with the best clarity. But don’t worry, they pack a punch and provide substantial amounts of bass in their small design. The amount of bass they deliver is downright astonishing – describing sound in text isn’t easy, but expect a whole lot of bass with a wide volume range. Listeners have the ability to crank up the volume to a loud maximum level, which some love, but others may never want to experience because they can be extremely loud.

Wireless

One of the best and most obvious features is their wireless capability. With the help of Bluetooth 4.0, the PH-BTE70 will have you completely un-tethered from your smart phone or mp3 player so you can move freely about. Of course there is a wire going from ear to ear, but this small cable never really gets in the way. The wireless feature is probably the very first thing that most people notice about them. Of course they’re not the only wireless earbud on the market, but the way they perform is well above average. Charging them takes about two hours when the battery is completely low, but they can be used for around 6 hours per each charge, so expect to get a lot of usage out of them before you need to plug them in again.

Photive PH-BTE70 Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds

Perfect for Workouts

Since they’re completely sweat-proof, weatherproof, and IPx6 rated for water resistance, you need not worry about them when they get a little damp. Their snug hook keeps them right where you need them to provide you with continuous music for hours on end. Best of all, you don’t have to touch your smartphone or mp3 player thanks to the on-board controls. Located on the side of the earbud is an assortment of the functioning buttons you need to control your music. Play, pause, change tracks, or pair your device with the click of a button in a convenient location.

Photive PH-BTE70 Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds

Answer Calls

Thanks to the functional buttons on the earbud, you can pause your music to take or reject a phone call when you’re on the go – all without touching your phone. Just press the discreetly located button and you’ll make for a much more productive time.

Common Questions When Choosing the Best Waterproof Headphones

How is waterproof rating rated and understood?

These days, people like to bring music everywhere they go. The relevance of music and relaxing has increased over time. We have created different playlists for different moods. Technology has made it possible for dust or water to be the least of our concerns when enjoying some good jam in our ears to adapt to various seasons and our activities daily.

If you’ve been using waterproof headphones for some time now, you will be familiar with the IP rating. This label shows how much protection certain devices to solid particles like dust and water. These ratings are an internationally established standard that specifies how effective the seal of devices like Bluetooth-enabled headphones against invading foreign bodies and moisture.

    IPX RATING

The IP rating is the first factor you should look into if you’re looking for this specific type of headphones. We’ll briefly explain to you how these are labeled and what each label means.

IP means “ingress protection” or “International Protection” is the marking you can see in most waterproof headphones, which means the level of protection against water, dust, and more.

The first number after the “IP” indicates the dust protection level, soil, and other solids the wireless headphone is. A designation of 0 means there is no protection from dust or other solid particles. An “X” means that there was no testing of the substance. Since most individuals are not concerned about having dust inside their earbuds, most earbuds are classified as IPX.

The second number tells you the water-resistance level of the device. Keep in mind that all fluids have different viscosity and surface tension. Just because a pair of headphones are water-resistant doesn’t mean that they’re gasoline or alcohol-resistant. Much like the dust resistance rating, a rating of 0 indicates no water resistance whatsoever.

For example, a device with an IP57 rating means it has a level 5 protection from solid particles and a level 7 protection from liquid particles.

What are the levels of IPX rating, and what does it mean?

Here’s a list of IP ratings and their meanings so the next time you look for waterproof headphones, you know what rating you should be looking for that’s perfect for your needs:

    • IPX0 – Zero/ no protection
    • IPX1 – Protected from Dripping water
    • IPX2 – Protected from vertically dripping water
    • IPX3 – Protected from sprays up to 60°
    • IPX4 – Protected from splashing water
    • IPX5 – Protected from water jets
    • IPX6 – Protected from powerful water jets
    • IPX7 – Protected underwater up to 3 feet.
    • IPX8 – Protects when immersed in water over 3 feet

Whether you’re looking for waterproof headphones for swimming for the beach or pool use or just for the gym, you should carefully look into these ratings usually found in product detail pages.

How good are IPX8-Rated Waterproof Headphones?

In a waterproof headphones’ case, you’re searching for something that seals well against water and when used underwater. IPX8 wireless headphones are rated to protect against long periods of immersion in water. Compared to IPX6 and IPX7 headphones, they are not rated for such use. These types of headphones may provide some degree of water-resistance but not for underwater usage.

Suppose you’re looking for a great waterproof-type headphone. In that case, you’ll want one rated for use underwater at least 3 meters deep, especially if you can see yourself using it while swimming in the ocean or deeper pools without connection issues.

How does it prevent water from entering the headphones?

We’ve always known that water and electricity don’t do well together. So how is this possible? Most product manufacturers use a hydrophobic coating by repelling water particles by having a low-energy surface, leading to the formation of water beads that resist and glide off the headphones’ exterior.

What’s the difference between water-resistant and waterproof headphones?

This question goes back to learning the IPX ratings. Remember that water-resistant headphones are different from fully waterproof ones.

    Water-Resistant

Water-resistant means that water can be exposed to, but not immersed in, the headphones or earbuds. So, if you do some gardening out in the yard and your 3-year-old gets a hold of the hose? You don’t need to worry. It can survive!

    Waterproof

Waterproof earbuds or headphones go above and beyond by being designed to stay while submerged. These swimming headphones are classified as waterproof. Both IPX7 and IPX8 ratings are safe when submerged, but IPX7 rated devices can only be submerged up to 1 meter underwater. The IP8 rated gadgets are safe beyond that depth.

Can I swim with Bluetooth Headphones? Does it have noise cancellation?

Yes, you can swim with Bluetooth headphones as long as they’re waterproof. Ensure that its rating is either IPX7 or IPX8 so you can swim along with great audio in your ears.

A Bluetooth signal usually doesn’t do well underwater. So while it may be tempting to get a wireless pair of IPX7 in-ears, if you’re planning on swimming laps, the Bluetooth signal might not be steady or work at all.

In headphones that are suitable for swimming, Active Noise-cancellation (ANC) is not present. This is due to the need to “listen” to observe ambient and external noise sources to reversely replicate it on the output, essentially canceling out the interference.

Aside from waterproof rating, what are the other factors that need to be considered in buying headphones for swimming?

Considering something “the best” in your search query doesn’t rely on one factor alone. In this case of choosing the perfect waterproof headphones, it’s more than just competitive IPX7 or IPX8 ratings, it’s also a lot of things. You must be able to check the customer review, brand, price, and important features. One shopping advice is to check the product detail pages of every good waterproof headphone you have set eyes on to look for in these factors.

We listed some items you should look upon in buying Bluetooth headphones with water-resistant features.

    Sound Quality

Why do you need true wireless earbuds or headphones? You want to listen to good music, of course, and that would be almost impossible if your device doesn’t produce amazing audio performance. So after finding headphones with great water resistance levels, the next factor you should check is its great-sounding. So you can enjoy listening to your favorite artists.

    Battery Life

Since you’re using the headphones usually outdoors, it needs to be packed with a decent to amazing battery life. These times, you can easily find a fully waterproof type headphone. Some offer 6 hours to 10 hours so you can enjoy music completely wire-free. Most in-ear headphones include a charging case that comes in handy. A charging case allows you further to maximize the battery life of your music buddy.

    Comfort

There are so many things to consider in choosing your pair of truly wireless earphones, and you should never miss checking the comfort! Because everything will be all for naught if it’s not comfortable in your ears. In-hear headphones are a big thing now. You can also check some bone conduction type of devices.

What types of headphones are great for waterproof earbuds?

    In-Ear Headphones

Typically, in-ears are tiny and snug enough to ensure they remain inside the ears as you swim. This design helps to seal the sound and prevent the moving jostle of water from loosening the earphones or impacting the recording’s consistency. In-ears are great a pair for some vigorous activities. Ideally, this type of device comes with a charging case and ear hooks.

    Bone Conduction Headphones

By delivering vibrations straight to your skull, chin, and cheekbones, bone conduction headphones work. The waves then cause the cochlear fluid to move, transmitting signals to your ear canal and allowing you to hear sound down to your auditory complex.

Since bone conduction technology is conveyed through your facial bones, you don’t have to think about the headphones coming out when you swim. Sadly, the open-ear configuration of bone conduction headphones suggests that they are not suitable for use in noisy conditions.

    Are there waterproof Bluetooth headphones?

Some waterproof earbuds do not come with Bluetooth. Many come with a built-in MP3 player instead. Ideally, you want portable headphones that come with a capacity of anything between 2GB and 4GB. This is because, for approximately 312 tracks, 1GB is fine.

With the evolution of technology, there are already several swimming earbuds with MP3 player and Bluetooth technology.

Find the best waterproof headphone for you!

Whatever we do, we can use a little bit of music. It links to our emotions and relaxation. So to enjoy it no matter what country you’re in a while doing anything, whether on the beach or at the gym, make sure it comes with all the helpful features. If you’re likely to hit some damp places or you tend to sweat a lot, make sure it’s waterproof. Check the audio quality, battery, and Bluetooth stability for an overall satisfying music session. You may earn just a great time with good music in your ears.

The first thing I did after opening all the packaging was to try to change to the smaller earbuds. It was difficult to get the original ones off, but the small ones were impossible to put on. I tried for over an hour thinking they must go on somehow. The instructions don't give any clues. They absolutely do not fit. It also looked like the right side of the headphones where the earbud is supposed to fit was blocked. I didn't see how you could possibly hear anything through it.

The bottom line is that I am extremely disappointed with the quality and have requested and been approved for a return. I always try to return the few things I send back packed as neatly as I received them. Sorry, Amazon, but it was close to impossible to figure out how to fit together all the packaging materials. I did the best I could.

    Photive BTH3 Review

    Buy at Amazon

In January, Photive released two new pairs of Bluetooth headphones — the BTH3 and BTX6. Despite the suspiciously low prices for the features offered and Photive’s relatively low brand-recognition, buyers seemed to love them. Seeing the reaction on Amazon end elsewhere, we decided we had to check them out for ourselves.

The BTH3 are the cheaper of the two pairs, though feature parity is close. Often going for just $50 online, the potential value here is great — assuming the headphones hold up, anyway. So, do they?

    What’s In The Box?

Opening up the box that holds the Photive BTH3 headphones the only thing you’ll see is the hard travel case; everything else is inside. Looking inside the case, you’ll find the headphones themselves, user’s guide, USB charging cable, and a 3.5 mm audio cable. Considering we’ve seen a whole lot less from headphones costing a whole lot more, this isn’t bad.

    Build & Design

As you might imagine, with the Photive BTH3 being the cheaper of the two, these headphones aren’t as flashy looking as the BTX6. Whether or not this is a bad thing is really up to you. They’re certainly not an ugly pair of headphones, and while they lack the bold shape and more style-focused design of the BTX6, they’re also not nearly as weird looking. These are also on the slimmer side, unlike the bulky BTX6.

This is a fairly comfortable pair of headphones. It might lack the slightly puffier ear cushions of its more expensive cousin, but as these are also lighter, excessive cushioning isn’t really necessary. After around two hours of use, I certainly could feel that I was wearing headphones — these don’t disappear the way pricier headphones like Bose’s SoundTrues do — but they didn’t feel irritating or particularly uncomfortable, even after that long. Likely due to the fact that they aren’t collapsible, the BTH3 are more adjustable than the BTX6 headphones. The ear cups rotate quite a bit, and along with the adjustable headband, it’s pretty easy to find a good fit with these headphones.

Don’t worry about carrying these around with you either. Even though they aren’t collapsible, they come with a hardshell case that isn’t all that much larger than the headphones themselves, so you’ll be able to easily keep them protected. This is nice to see, as we’ve seen much more expensive headphones offer only a soft case, or no case at all.s

    Connectivity

Pairing the Photive BTH3 headphones with the device of your choice is a fairly easy process. Though these don’t feature the audible instructions and cues that the BTX6 do, the flashing light on the side of the left ear cup is enough of a cue to make it simple to figure out that they automatically start broadcasting as soon as you turn them on. Interestingly enough, this pair of headphones features a dedicated power button and separate play/pause button, unlike the multi-function button used on many headphones

Speaking of buttons, the BTH3 headphones are packed with them. The left ear cup holds the aforementioned play/pause button as well as the forward / skip and rewind / back buttons. The right ear cup holds the power button as well as dedicated volume buttons. Again, some might balk at the sheer amount of buttons here, but I found it refreshing to have some much control available. Unlike some headphones, all of the buttons worked perfectly with my Moto X during testing.

The microphone is decent, but nothing to write home about. As with all headphones of this type, the microphone placement can cause you to sound slightly more “distant” than if you were speaking directly into your phone, but it’s not a drastic step down in sound quality. Bluetooth range easily met the 33ft advertised, and sustained listening at this distance was perfectly fine, though moving too far beyond quickly led to dropouts and skipping.

    Battery

The lithium-ion battery in the BTH3 is promised by Photive to provide a listening time of up to 12 hours. Even after testing the headphones for over 11 hours at moderate and higher volume, I hadn’t noticed any sort of low battery warning. They also charged very quickly —ear cup though I didn’t fully exhaust the battery, it was still nice to see that they reached a full charge in less than two hours.

Both the charging port and the 3.5 mm audio-in jack are located on the right ear cup, and it’s nice to see that they are covered. This pair of headphones isn’t advertised as weatherproof, but it’s still nice to see that it isn’t easy for sand or moisture to get inside.

    Sound Quality

Both the Photive BTH3 and BTX6 use 40 mm drivers, though listening for just a few seconds makes it clear that these don’t use the same 40 mm drivers. The sonic signature of each pair of headphones is drastically different from the other, and seems to be aimed at different types of listeners.

In testing the BTH3 I listened to both a smartphone (a Motorola Moto X) connected via Bluetooth, and to lossless FLAC files and CDs through the 3.5 mm cable, connected to a computer via a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 audio interface. As usual, I played music of all sorts of genres, as well as a handful of podcasts and an audiobook.

    Lows

Unlike the Photive BTX6 headphones and their X-Bass branding, the bass is not overpowering or heavily emphasized in the BTH3. It isn’t lacking or thin-sounding either — it’s just not clearly boosted as with the BTX3. Bass response is a little on the slow side, so a slight lack of tight focus can pop up in certain types of music, with fast metal or punk being the notable examples here.

    Mids

The mids are crisp and clear, without the slightly boxy sound that is so present in single-driver headphones in this price range. There is an apparent slight boost around the 1 kHz range, which is presumably there to give vocals a slight boost. This is slight enough to not be obnoxious, and doesn’t adversely affect the sound.

    Highs

The highs are clear and crisp, almost to a fault. The highs aren’t overly emphasized, but there is a crisp sort of sizzle to the highs that isn’t always apparent, but was noticeable on some songs.

Soundstage was surprisingly decent for closed-back headphones, even when using them via Bluetooth. I know Bluetooth sound has come a long way, but this still surprised me a bit. Generally, this is a well-balanced and fairly good sounding pair of headphones, and I actually preferred the sound of the BTH3 to the pricier BTX6, though I’m not certain that this opinion will be shared.

    Conclusion

For an asking price of $49.95, this is an incredibly solid pair of headphones. Though the BTH3 might not be as comfortable or as bass-heavy as the ever so slightly more expensive BTX6, they’re more balanced sounding, lighter, and are more adjustable. Personally, I prefer the sound of the BTH3 to the BTX6, so this isn’t a case where the more expensive pair is obviously better. Both have their strengths and weaknesses.

Are there better headphones out there? Most definitely. But in this price range the competition is slim. There may be competition that can offer a decent fight, but the Photive BTH3 are among the best Bluetooth headphones we’ve seen at this price.

1.0 out of 5 starsImpossible to Change Earbuds

Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2018

I loved my last pair of Photive Headphones. They were terrific! Unfortunately, I lost them while traveling earlier this week. Of course, I ordered another pair of Photive Bluetooth Earbuds.

The clips securely fasten around the ears and prevent the earphone tips from flopping around and coming loose. One tip to enhance your experience while using the Jaybird X2 headphone would be to use the silicone earbuds included in the package. It even comes with a lifetime sweat proof warranty, which is the assurance from the manufacturers that you are getting one solid piece of audio equipment.

The Jaybird X2 allows for an amazing 8 hours of playtime for a single charge. If you are an avid runner who runs for 7-8 miles daily, you could use the headphone for about a week without charging it. If you are training for a half marathon, the new iOS features the battery life on the iphone which is pretty handy.

The X2 is designed based on the 6mm traditional speaker driver (versus a balanced armature design).  Furthermore, there is a huge range of colors that you can choose from – the conventional white or black, fiery red, cool blue or the alpha green. In terms of audio performance, the audio produced can go very loud (loud enough to hurt your ears). It produces extremely clear and crisp sound.  Connecting the Jaybird X2 to your bluetooth device is easy, simple and almost instantaneous. In some quick swapping back and forth tests, we found that the X2s do have clearer sound and deeper bass compared with other running headphones, and are definitely more than sufficient to play music while on the go.

Finally, the X2  comes in one convenient package – with premium sport memory foam ear tips for extra comfort, patented secure-fit ear fins, friction-fit silicone sport carrying case, silicon ear tips and the standard charging cable. The X2 however is not absolutely sound-proof; this feature is intended for safety purposes for runners to hear on-coming traffic. One tip to maximize clarity of the sound is to get the right earbud size to fit your ear.

The Verdict? Jaybird X2 are a set of premium and undoubtedly one of the best wireless headphones for running at this price range. It qualifies as one of our top choices due to its sturdiness and durability, premium memory foam ear tips and lightweight design, which allow for maximum comfort. #2 Powerbeats 2 Wireless Running Headphones

    Powerbeats 2 Wireless Running Headphones
The popular Powerbeats 2 Wireless In-Ear Headphone is quite unlike any other sport headphones, and definitely deserves a spot on our list as one of the best wireless headphones for running. It is designed to be extremely portable and IPX4 rated for water and sweat resistance.  It comes with multiple earbuds to ensure that you get the right fit in your ears. Compared to the Bose MIE2i, we must say that the sound was extremely impressive. The sound delivery was designed to produce loud and clear sound with minimal distortion and it truly did not disappoint! The sound was clear and the bass was amazingly deep.

What’s awesome about the Powerbeats 2 is that it also comes with a hard shell case which protects the headphones from being damaged. It is lightweight and its design so compact that it easily fits comfortably on the ears. The Powerbeats 2 are equipped with a flexible earhook, allowing it to attach securely on your ears whenever you are doing strenuous workouts or running a marathon. When worn, the Powerbeats 2 feels like a breeze.  One feature that we found particularly useful was the RemoteTalk wrapped around the cable. It is built with a no-slip grip so even though if your hands get sweaty, you will be able to change volume, switch tracks or answer to phone calls using the remote.

The Powerbeats 2 lives up to its expectation of being one of the best wireless headphones for running. We really liked the sound quality from these headphones, especially the bass which felt very deep and punchy. The Powerbeats 2 also features very good Bluetooth range and connectivity, allowing you to connect to your mobile device up to 30 ft away. This headphone also lasts for a period of 6 hours and if the battery is running out, just pop it into a plug for a quick 15 minute charge to deliver another extra hour of music.

The Powerbeats 2 is easily one of the best wireless headphones for running, greatly enhancing your running experience and providing much needed comfort and entertainment along the way. It is lightweight and compact with a flexible earhook, which provides a comfortable and secure fit while running or doing work outs. #3 Jabra Sport Coach Wireless Headphones for Running

Jabra Sport Coach Wireless Headphones for Running

Jabra Sport Coach Wireless Headphones for RunningThe Jabra Sport Coach Wireless Bluetooth Headphones is one of the best wireless headphones for running due to its specialization for cross training and its combination with fitness gadgets. The most unique package of the Jabra Sport Coach lies in the cross training app where you can actually choose from more than 50 exercises integrated into the headphones. The exercises range from the beginner level to the advanced level. We have personally tried some of the exercises and were quite impressed by the fitness gadgets built in this earphone.  One feature that particularly stood out is when you combine training with running, there is a sensor called Track Fit motion sensor that will measure the distance, pace, cadence, steps and calories burned. The app also tells you when to rest and switch to another exercise. You also have the options of customising your own exercise.

Straight out of the box, the first thing we noticed about the Jabra Sport Coach Headphones is that it comes with multiple sized ear gels and ear wings to create a personalised fit. The earbuds fit snugly into the ears without any discomfort. These sporty headphones gave us the impression that it is designed to propel us through intensive and rigorous workout and true enough, it did not disappoint us at all. The headphone stayed securely on the ears and did not fall out when we were doing intensive workouts. One tip to optimize your listening experience is to try different sizes of ear gels and ear wings for the perfect fit. The Jabra Sport Headphones are available in three distinct colors (yellow, blue and red), which are all stunning and attractively designed.

Furthermore, these wireless running headphones are also IPX5 rated which means it is built towards the US military standard and shields the headphone from rain, shock and dust protection. This is essential for runners who wish to track through difficult terrain especially in rainy seasons. The Jabra Sport is portable, durable and is the perfect companion for the most demanding environments.

The Verdict? The Jabra Sport Coach Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds is easily one of the best wireless headphones for running and intensive workout. If you are looking for something techy and rugged, it doesn’t really get better than this wireless headphone with its unique design coupled with an effective integrated cross training app. The sound performance of the Jabra Sport Coach is superb too, making this one of the best headphones on this list.

#4 Bluephonic Wireless Sport Bluetooth Headphones

    Bluephonic Wireless Sport Bluetooth Headphones

The Bluephonic Wireless Sport Bluetooth Headphones ranks as one of the best wireless headphones for running when taken together as an entire package. The Bluephonic headphones feature fantastic audio performance with zone Bluetooth Stereo earbuds with CVC 6.0 noise cancelling to reduce background noise and Aptx beats technology. These wireless earbuds are designed to protect against sweat and moisture, with universal bluetooth compatibility with ultra-long battery life. In addition, its flexible ear hooks securely fit into the ears and are very comfortable to wear, making them perfect for doing your favorite exercises or workouts.

One feature that we really liked is the headphone’s stellar audio performance. In fact, we would go as far as to say that it sounded as good (or even better) as the Powerbeats 2. Listeners of bassy music will definitely like the bass response produced from these headphones – the bass was rich and deep without being overwhelming. The volume level is nice and loud, and works really well with mobile devices. The pairing is effortless – simply switch off and switch on your device and this headphone will pair with your device automatically. The Bluetooth connection is excellent from a good 10 yards away while maintaining connectivity and sound quality.

The battery life of these headphones are advertised up to 8 hours, but so far we tested them for about 8.5 hours and still going; the audio is crystal clear and if you like bass heavy music (such as EDM and Dubstep) you will definitely love these headphones. The buttons are practical and effective to use. To skip some of the tracks, all you need to do is simply hold the + button, to listen again to the previous track, simply hold the – button.

The comfort and stability of the Bluephonic headphones was really good. Running, jumping and other similar activities did not knock these out. An improvement over the Powerbeats is that all the controls are in the earpiece, so there are no inline controls bouncing on your neck that might cause discomfort. Furthermore, the Bluephonics has a very balanced noise isolation, while allowing some outside noise in. If you require more noise isolation, simply swap over for the foam tips which will definitely provide more isolation and clear up the vocals.

The Verdict? We found that the Bluephonics are definitely well worth the cost – for bass lovers, these are the must have best wireless headphones for running that you will definitely enjoy. This product comes with one pair of headphones, a carrying case, a charger and different sized ear pieces with plenty of customization options. They are suitable for intensive outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, or biking. At the time of writing, the bass heavy Bluephonics are selling at a very good price point.

#5 Plantronics BackBeat Fit Wireless Running Headphones Plus Smartphone Armband

Plantronics BackBeat Fit Wireless Running Headphones

Plantronics BackBeat Fit Wireless Running HeadphonesThe Plantronics BackBeat Fit Wireless Headphones is a dream come true for runners – it will intensely enrich your running experience by turning the dull exercise into a rejuvenating journey. What stood out the most of this Plantronics is its sleek and rugged design. The flexibility of the headphone accentuates itself as one of the best wireless headphones for running –the rubbery material that moulds the headphone makes the headphone incredibly flexible and durable. Furthermore, its rugged water-resistant and sweat-proof design with P2i coating enhances the durability of these headphones. Its powerful speakers and custom codec driver delivers heart-pumping bass and crisp notes while you run to the beat of the music.

The Plantronics BackBeat Fit Wireless Headphones comes with two selections of colours (either blue or green); it also comes with a unique design of earbuds to ensure that the earbuds stay in the ears throughout intensified exercise. What is special about Plantronics BackFeat Wireless Headphones is its clever design of having a small rubber wire tugged with the individual earpieces to ensure that the speaker is held next to the auditory canal. It is not sealed so as to allow noise to be heard, thus reducing the risks of an accident. The headset stayed comfortably on the ears and it certainly did not bounce around while working out. Finally, it features a safety-oriented ear tip design and reflective finishes to enable you to hear ambient noise and be seen by cars or other vehicles.

The sound performance on the Plantronics was really much better than expected. It is higher quality than the previous versions, and the volume can go very loud. The sound is rich, deep and amazing, and reproduces bass very well for bass heavy music. Do note however, that since Plantronics designed these headphones to let some sound in for safety, the sound may be somewhat diminished. To compensate, the highs and very lows have been boosted and work very well.

A quibble that we could find is with the Backbeat Headphone’s control. It has a peculiar design on its volume button in that it is not immediately intuitive that tapping the volume would raise the volume while holding the headphone downwards would lower the volume. However, once you get used to it this isn’t really a biggie.

The Verdict? It’s not hard to see why the Plantronics BackBeat is one of the most popular and best wireless headphones for running. If you are in the market for a workout/ running headset, you cannot go wrong with the Plantronics. Furthermore, the entire headphones are molded from a very flexible, rubbery material that is exceedingly durable and nicely accented with reflective blue to aid visibility, and comes with a couple of extra safety features. At the time of writing, these popular wireless headphones for running are selling at a very good price, so be sure to check them out before they sell out!

Straight out from the box, what we found were the earbuds, a charging cable that is 21 inches long and multiple selections of silicone earbuds in three distinct sizes – small, medium and large sizes to ensure maximum fitness. Conveniently, there were also 2 cord management clips to fold our earphones to prevent us from trampling on our long cords and also a clothing clip to fasten the earphone onto our shirt. When we tried the Photive Wireless Bluetooth Headphones, we were amazed by how well it fits into the ears and how comfortable it felt – we did not have to readjust the ear hooks at all. Each ear hook has a rubber coated wire that can be moulded for a customized fit on the ears, which is really a nice added touch. A tip to snugly fit this pair of headphone is to gently bend, push and shape the ear hook to make them fit on the ears.

We were incredibly impressed by the Photive Wireless Bluetooth Headphone’s sound quality. It delivered an astonishing mix of sound quality and to our surprise, its bass is considerably deep. The battery life can last for 6 hours and it only took 2 hours to fully recharge it. Furthermore, the Photive Wireless Bluetooth Headphone prides itself in its resistance to water. It is specified to be resistant towards water to IPX6 level where the headphone has been continuously sprayed with water for at least 3 minutes. This means that you can take the Photive headphones virtually anywhere and even on wet seasons. Pairing the Photive to your mobile device is easy; the earbud also has a small LED light that lights blue when it is on and flashes red when it is switched off.

The Photive delivers amazing sound quality due to its advanced APTX sound and Bluetooth 4.0 technology which enhances the acoustic and deep bass. The convenient on-board controls on the Photive headphones allow you to answer calls, skip tracks and pause/play your music without the need to reach for your phone.

The Verdict? The Photive Wireless Bluetooth Headphones are incredibly comfortable, uniquely designed and produce very good sound quality. It’s also sweat proof, and ideal to use as one of the best wireless headphones for running or working out. The Photive headphones travel well, due to a long-lasting rechargeable battery which means that you can spend more time listening to music and less time looking for an outlet. Overall, we really liked the look, fit and sound of these headphones and we highly recommend them.

#7 Aftershokz Bluez 2S Wireless Headphones for Running

Aftershokz Bluez 2S Wireless Headphones for Running

Aftershokz Bluez 2S Wireless Headphones for Running

The Aftershokz Blue 2s Wireless Open Ear Headphones are a very unique set and one of the best wireless headphones for running for its novel technology of using bone conduction that transmits sound waves directly to the cochlea through vibration. These running headphones are advertised to fascinate users through its superb sound quality coupled with its sound awareness system. We are pleased to report that these headphones do what they advertise, and much more. If you are looking for a headphone that does not cover your ears and does not tune you out of the world, the Aftershokz Wireless Running Headphones are a great choice.

Out of the package, it comes with a bag, a rubber tension strap to keep the headphones snugly secure on the ears. Note that the Aftershokz Wireless Headphone package does not come with an adapter for USB to power outlet.

Down to functionality, the integrated buttons are extremely user-friendly. Just tap once for play/pause, tap twice to select your next song and tap hold for call. Whilst working out, we found that the pairing is effortless; the weight is so light that we felt that we were not wearing anything and the headphone stayed securely fastened through all workouts. The battery lasted us for 6 hours as advertised and it took us no more than 2 hours to get it fully recharged.

The Aftershokz sounds great and has none of the drawbacks of other corded or cordless headsets. They also work great for telephone conversations in all but the noisiest environments. Its sound performance is terrific. We tested the Aftershokz Wireless Headphone with different music genres. When paired with classical music, we were surprised that it delivered surprisingly amazing quality of music with the orchestral works and piano compositions well preserved with almost no distortion. With classic rock and hip hop music, the music delivered is of decent quality and does not get muffled whenever you are sweating profusely. A little difficulty we experienced was when we were playing metal and techno music –  as these headphones transmit sound through vibration, we found that metal music delivers too much vibration that it causes the surface of the skull to feel ticklish or itchy. You can decrease discomfort by lowering the volume to reduce vibrations.

The Verdict? The Aftershokz Wireless Headphone are quite possibly one of the most comfortable and best wireless headphones for running. They leave no ear fatigue at all, and can securely attach around your head while doing strenuous workouts without any hassle. Because of their lightweight design, it also doesn’t feel sore on the head, and you can go on with these for 6 hours of battery life while enjoying the comfort your music. Although the open-ear concept may be quite new for some users, the open-fit design assures sound awareness for safety reasons. The patented dual suspension transducers that transmit audio via bone conduct is definitely something to be reckoned with.

It even provides noise reduction and echo cancellation to ensure that you can hear every bit of music while you work out, which is really quite a feat.

The simplicity and style of these headphones, as well as the packaging, set them apart from other units out there. They are packaged in a nice case with a little net to help store the extra pieces so you don’t lose them and they don’t rattle around the case. The headphones look very sleek and comfortable; they have a light touch to them, almost not even noticeable, yet help keep the headphones in place while running and working out in general. The tangle free cord is both lightweight and long enough to stay behind the neck or worn in front. In addition, a thin layer of liquipel protects the BT-2 Bluetooth headphones from moisture – this specialized substance makes these headphones safe from accidental spills, splashes and sweaty workouts.

Essentially, the fit of these headphones are very nice and comfortable for long term use. You can put in larger ear buds to help seal out outside noise. There is a good amount of bass that come from these little speakers and really get you lost in the music. The sound is clear and crisp, with good emphasis on the highs and the mids. The bass response on these headphones is amazing, rich and deep. We were very impressed with the extra bass that these headphones deliver, and while they are not for audiophiles, they are certainly great for jogging and gym use.

These headphones feature built-in NFC technology for simple and fast connection with Bluetooth 4.1 for high quality audio transmission. We found pairing the headphones with our mobile device quick and easy, and reconnecting them after turning on your mobile device is very fast. As soon as they are turned on, a voice comes on saying that the audio device is connected. When you turn them off, the voice will say Power Off. The battery life on the TOTU BT-2 is amazing; although they are advertised to last for up to 7 hours, we managed to squeeze a total of 10 hours of playtime from these headphones.

The Verdict? The TOTU BT-2s are easily one of the best wireless headphones for running that you can find. They are reliable and powerful, and can be used for a range of activities from working out at the gym to outdoor intensive activities. They don’t fall out while working out, and they are extremely comfortable to have on. These headphones are very powerful, have a slim appealing appearance, sound good and are highly durable. At the time of writing, these amazing headphones are selling at a very attractive price point, so snap them up before they sell out!

#9 Dreaminex D-10 Advanced Wireless Headphone for Running

Dreaminex D-10 Advanced Wireless Headphone for Running

It’s hard to beat the Dreaminex D-10 when it comes to advanced sport bluetooth technology. Dreaminex advertised the D-10 running headphone as one of the newest and most advanced headphone of 2016. Straight out of the box, we were quite surprised by its white and gold design (its also available in a black and gold combination). Designed with the latest SoundTouchD-10 technology, the Dreaminex sport Bluetooth headphone is truly one of the best wireless headphones for running you can find at this price range. If leaving aside your phone while working out is your preference, the D-10s have a wireless audio range of 33 ft which is definitely an added plus.

We tried pairing the D-10s with our iPhone, Galaxy and our PC and it was easily manageable. The tip to start pairing is to hold the button till you see a blue light lit after which you keep holding till you see blinking red/blue which means it is ready for pairing. From the box, it also comes with multiple ear buds of different sizes giving plenty of customization options. The earbuds are specially designed for sports / work out and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the ear buds did not fall out even during our most intensive cardio workouts. It also features an ear wing that fastens to your ear for added security.

In terms of the audio performance, we were quite surprised by its spectacular sound quality. The highs and mids were crisp and clear, the bass was not too overpowering and you could distinctly hear the vocals very well. Furthermore, the Dreaminex D-10 sport Bluetooth headphone features CVC Noise Cancellation 6.0 Technology which can block out remarkably loud noise. You can adjust the noise cancellation levels and we found that at 2 out of 10 levels it was powerful enough to filter the noise of people talking. The sound adjustment also syncs well with your phone such that when you adjust the sound on the headset, the volume on your phone is automatically adjusted. A bonus of the D-10s lies in the build and its lightweight design. Dreaminex’s incorporation of metallic material into the design certainly upgrades the design and gives it a very rugged and durable impression.

The Verdict? What’s best is that the D-10s are now selling at a very good price at the time of writing. With this price, the only thing we can complain is that the battery only lasts us for 5 hours, which is no big deal unless you intend to run more than 5 hours per day. If constantly recharging the headphone is not a quibble for you, we definitely recommend the Dreaminex D-10 as one of the best wireless headphones for running. With the latest technological integration, functionality as a noise cancelling device coupled with its extreme comfort, the D-10s are a very good investment.

It features the usual user-friendly control buttons like play/ pause, track control and it also allows you to answer the phone directly from the headphone while working out. Furthermore, it has an IPX4 nano coating for sweat and moisture protection, with an added custom case for protective storage. It’s great for most outdoor activities such as running, cycling, hiking, and is definitely very lightweight and comfortable to wear around.

When we unpacked the package, we immediately liked the intricate design of the hardcase of the Red Fox Bluetooth Wireless Headphone. The case itself has a striking red word with an integrated red fox as its logo. As runners, this logo really imprints the nostalgic memories of running half-marathons.

The Red Fox Wireless EDGE will fit seamlessly and securely into your ears. If you are an avid outdoor enthusiast, you will definitely appreciate the sound of music whilst on an adventure or to be able to answer conference calls. Its weight is comparatively lighter than any other headphones that we tested and it easily helps us to steadily manoeuvre around. It works great not just while running but also on cycling and hiking outdoor activities and we found these headphones perform extremely well without compromising manoeuvrability.

In terms of wireless pairing, the Bluetooth range is solid up to about 30′ feet with no loss of connection. It also has a coating for sweat and moisture protection does not hurt your ears during periods of excessively sweating. Do note that for safety reasons, the EDGE is not completely soundproof – which means you will be able to hear things like oncoming cars and motorcyclists. The sound produced by these headphones are clean and crisp, although somewhat lacking in bass (although we would mention that you can’t expect much bass with wireless headphones of these size). If you are looking for headphones that aren’t too bassy, these will definitely be a perfect fit.

The Verdict? Red Fox Wireless EDGE has a lot of cool features and stylistic design that really makes up for what it lacks. Common Questions When Choosing the Best Waterproof Headphones

How is waterproof rating rated and understood?

We’ll briefly explain to you how these clayoquot sound kayaking labeled and what each label means.

Since most individuals are not concerned about having dust photive sport bluetooth earbuds review their earbuds, most earbuds are classified as IPX.

The second number tells you the water-resistance level of the device. Keep in mind that all fluids have different viscosity and surface tension. Just because nova southeastern university womens basketball schedule pair of headphones are water-resistant doesn’t mean that they’re gasoline or alcohol-resistant.

IPX8 wireless headphones anderson basketball tournament photive sport bluetooth earbuds review to protect against long periods of immersion in water. Compared to IPX6 and IPX7 headphones, they are not rated for such use. These types of headphones may provide some degree of water-resistance but not for underwater usage.

Suppose you’re looking for a great waterproof-type headphone. In that case, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review, you’ll want one rated for use underwater at least 3 meters deep, especially if you can see yourself using it while swimming in the ocean or deeper pools without connection issues.

Water-resistant means that water can be exposed to, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review, but not immersed in, the headphones or earbuds.

Most in-ear photive sport bluetooth earbuds review include a charging case that comes in handy. A charging case allows you further to maximize the battery life of your music buddy.

    Comfort

There are so many things to consider in choosing your pair of truly wireless earphones, and you should never miss checking the comfort! Because everything will be all for naught if it’s not comfortable in your ears. In-hear headphones are a photive sport bluetooth earbuds review thing now, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review.

Since bone conduction technology is conveyed through your facial bones, you don’t have to think about the headphones coming out when you swim, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review.

So to enjoy it no matter what country you’re in a while doing cb south jv basketball, whether on the beach or at the gym, make sure it comes with all the helpful features.

Looking inside the case, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review find the headphones themselves, user’s guide, USB charging cable, and a 3.5 mm audio cable. Considering we’ve seen a whole lot less from headphones costing a whole lot more, this isn’t bad.

    Build & Design

As you might imagine, with the Photive BTH3 being the cheaper of the two, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review, these headphones aren’t as flashy looking as the BTX6.

Even though they aren’t collapsible, they come with a hardshell case that isn’t all that much larger than the headphones themselves, so you’ll be able to easily photive sport bluetooth earbuds review them protected, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review. This is nice to see, as we’ve seen much more expensive headphones offer only a soft case, tim mcmichael pole vault photive sport bluetooth earbuds review case at all.s

Speaking of buttons, the BTH3 headphones are packed with them, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review.

As with all headphones of this type, the microphone placement can cause you to sound slightly more “distant” than if you were speaking photive sport bluetooth earbuds review into your phone, but it’s not a drastic step down in sound quality. Bluetooth range easily met the 33ft advertised, and sustained listening at this distance was perfectly fine, though moving too far beyond quickly led to dropouts and skipping.

    Battery

The lithium-ion battery in the BTH3 is promised photive sport bluetooth earbuds review Photive to provide a listening time of up to 12 hours.

Both the Photive Photive sport bluetooth earbuds review and BTX6 use 40 mm drivers, though listening for just a few seconds makes it clear that these don’t use the same 40 mm drivers.

2.0 out of 5 starsExcellent fit and noise isolation, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review sound for low power, energy efficient Bluetooth earbuds

The only force on the cable was weight of the cable itself, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review, bouncing slightly as I ran. I wore them during 5 runs, about 8 hours total.

I am replacing these with earbuds photive sport bluetooth earbuds review another manufacturer, not because I think these are poorly manufactured, but because I found a competitor product with better ratings for sound quality and battery life at a similar price point.

I did read the warranty terms in the user manual, however, which are stated as 90 days, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review.

Microphone quality is sufficient for phone calls, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review.

I don't blast the volume while running, and I haven't drained the battery between charges in the week I've had them, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review, but the battery has lasted over 4 hours while showing more than 50% charge remaining.

I never have to push them back into place, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review.

Pros: size, weight, secure fit even while running, photive sport bluetooth earbuds review, multiple hooks and buds, battery life for the size.

Cons: sound photive sport bluetooth earbuds review at high volume, particularly bass

    1. Had my first visual encounter. As I entered I thought about my family and had only positive energy. Didnt last long before I fell asleep. But I wasn't trying to push too far. Hard to explain but my eyes were trying to open twitching sporadically and strong emotions of fear joy and love entered all at once as my heart began to race. I was able to control it after a short time. My dad passed away several years ago. I saw him again today not as a human construct. Very powerful feeling. I'm going to push a little further next time.
